Description:
Acquisition of a Complete Line for Whole Genome Sequencing in Sturgeon. By making this purchase, the Contracting Authority as a beneficiary under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan is to establish and specifically equip the Molecular Genetics Laboratory forto create the possibility to carry out research activities on the genome, offering a new perspective of the evolution of sturgeon populations in the Danube, but also other applications that allow the identification and differentiation of wild sturgeon populations from aquaculture ones. Identification of some elementstraceability between the various populations can offer new directions for the genetic identification of the origin of caviar and sturgeon products in the commercial circuit, thus increasing the level of deterrence of poaching. The Laboratory of Molecular Genetics must be equippedthose that provide a research framework and a flow for the isolation, storage, quantification and sequencing of the sturgeon genome, implicitly for obtaining results that can be included in international databases (GenBank).
