Description:
This investment project of the municipality of Miercurea Ciuc subscribes to the specific objective of POR 4.1. of reducing carbon emissions in urban areas based on sustainable urban mobility plans.
In accordance with the Specific Guide POR 4.1., through specific Objective 4.1. from ROP 2014-2020those projects are supported that prove they have a direct positive impact on the reduction of CO2 equivalent emissions, generated by motorized road transport at the level of municipalities/cities and their functional areas. According to the programmatic documents at the European level, disthe turning of urban mobility must become much less dependent on the use of cars, by changing the emphasis from a mobility based mainly on their use, to a mobility based on walking, using the bicycle as a means of travel, using public transportof high quality and efficiency, reducing the use of cars in parallel with the use of some categories of non-polluting cars. By developing an attractive and efficient public passenger transport system but also by creating/modernizing/expanding a coherent network of roadste/routes for bicycles, the conditions can be ensured for achieving a sustainable transfer of part of the modal share of private car transport (increasing in Romania) to public transport, the use of bicycles as a means of travel and walking.
